Yacca Library is the Medical Library for the North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS).

Yacca Library service for JCU students

Yacca Library staff are available to help with:

  • APA 7th edition Reference checking
  • Support using JCU online resources & databases.
  • Assistance with access JCU's Off Campus student support services*.
  • We hold multiple copies of core nursing texts, check our Queensland Health Library Catalogue to see what is available.

Visit the library:

  • Eduroam wifi
  • JCU computers, printer and scanner
  • Open and quite study space
  • Access, use and personal bookings^ of the Yacca Tutorial Room

    *Don't forget to check the JCU library catalogue as many books are available as eBooks or as off campus loans from the Eddie Koiki Mabo Library. You can also use JCU "Chat with a Librarian" feature to chat online with JCU library staff if you have questions.

Off Campus Support

JCU offers off campus loans for staff and students. This service offers a loan period 2 weeks longer than the corresponding on-campus students (to allow for postage times) and also includes free return postage. The cheat sheet below is a quick step by step guide. Find out more by clicking here

The Learning Centre provides useful quick to read and easy to understand print outs or short videos to help you with academic skills, This site is open access meaning non JCU students can also take advantage of many of their excellent resources.
